Juniors Team
For 2010 the Specialized Junior Development Program will consist of fourteen Northern California juniors from 13-18 years old. The Specialized Junior Development Program and Specialized Masters Team are closely intertwined through regular interaction between the two programs. In addition, the juniors are each assigned a mentor on the masters team that has the most relevant life experiences to assist the juniors in reaching their goals, cycling or otherwise.
In the junior program's inaugural year in 2007 it had tremendous success, with four members racing internationally with the Junior US National Team, achieving several podium finishes and one victory in the heart of international cycling - Belgium. The team also won several Northern California district championships.
In 2009 team member Charlie Avis won the Junior National Time Trial Championship. He has since graduated from the junior ranks and was picked up to ride with Lance Armstrong's Livestrong U23 program for 2010.
